Common issues & solutions

Quick fixes for the problems users hit most often — login, sync, Dawn, and the browser extension.

Quick answer

Most issues fall into three buckets: login (clear cookies + reset password), Dawn (refresh + check the daily limit), or extension (re-pin + reload the page). If none of those work, submit a ticket with your browser version.

Account & login

"Invalid credentials" when signing in

  • Double-check the email for typos (it's the silent #1 cause).
  • Use Forgot password to reset.
  • Clear cookies for daybreakpath.com and try again.
  • Make sure you're at app.daybreakpath.com, not a similar domain.

Verification email never arrived

  • Check spam, then add [email protected] to your contacts.
  • Wait 2–3 minutes — delivery is usually fast but sometimes delayed.
  • Request a new code from the login page if it's been more than 5 minutes.

"Session expired" errors

  • This happens after long inactivity. Sign in again — your data is safe.
  • If it happens repeatedly, your browser is probably blocking third-party cookies. Allow them for daybreakpath.com.

Dawn AI

Dawn isn't responding

  • Check your internet connection.
  • Refresh the page.
  • During peak hours, responses can take 5–10 seconds. If it's been longer than 30 seconds, refresh and try again.
  • Free accounts hit a daily message limit — open Settings to see your current count and upgrade if needed.

Dawn's responses feel generic

  • Provide more context in your messages. "I'm having a hard day" gets a generic response; "I had a craving at lunch when my coworker mentioned the bar we used to go to" gets a personal one.
  • Complete your daily check-ins so Dawn has data to reference.
  • Fill out goals and motivations in Settings.

Daybreak Focus extension

Not blocking websites

  • Click the extension icon and confirm you're signed in.
  • Check the active focus mode actually contains the site you want blocked. Open the extension → switch modes if needed.
  • Reload the page after adding new sites to your block list.
  • If you have other privacy extensions installed, temporarily disable them to check for conflicts.

Blocked sites can still be reached

  • Some sites serve content from multiple domains — block subdomains too if needed (e.g. m.example.com, cdn.example.com).
  • Clear your browser cache after adding new blocks.
  • The extension does not block incognito tabs unless you explicitly enable that in your browser's extension settings.

The icon disappeared

  • Click the puzzle-piece icon in your toolbar. Chrome hides extensions by default; find Daybreak Focus and click the pin.

Sync

Data isn't syncing across devices

  • Confirm you're signed in to the same account on every device.
  • Check internet on the affected device.
  • Sign out and back in to refresh session tokens.
  • Visit Settings → Devices to see what's currently connected.

Time Vault

Can't unlock my vault

  • Check your unlock schedule — you may be outside the allowed window.
  • If you have an accountability partner, they may need to approve.
  • Emergency unlock is available with a configurable cooldown.
  • If you're locked out unexpectedly, contact us.

General

Pages loading slowly

  • Check status.daybreakpath.com first — if there's an incident, the issue is on our end.
  • Clear browser cache.
  • Disable browser extensions temporarily to rule out conflicts.
  • Try a different browser.

Dark mode not working

  • Toggle the sun/moon icon in the navbar.
  • Dark mode follows your system preference by default; override in Settings → Appearance.

Still stuck

Submit a ticket with:

  • One-line description of the problem.
  • What you've already tried.
  • Browser name + version, OS, and a screenshot if you can.
