Getting started

Uninstalling Daybreak

Remove the Daybreak browser extension or mobile app from your devices. Account and data stay intact unless you delete them separately.

Quick answer

Uninstalling apps and extensions does not delete your account or data. Remove the extension from your browser; uninstall the mobile app the normal way. To delete your data, see the Delete account guide.

Uninstalling is a local operation — it removes the software, not your account. If you want to wipe your data too, use the Delete account guide instead (or as well).

Export first if you might come back

If there's any chance you'll return, export your data before uninstalling. Reinstalling later brings your account back, but the export is yours regardless.

Daybreak Focus extension

Chrome / Edge / Brave / Opera

  1. Right-click the Daybreak icon in your toolbar.
  2. Select Remove from Chrome (or your browser's equivalent).
  3. Confirm.

Or visit chrome://extensions/ (or the equivalent in your browser), find Daybreak Focus, and click Remove.

Safari

  1. Open Safari → Settings → Extensions.
  2. Uncheck Daybreak Focus to disable, or click Uninstall to fully remove it.

Mobile app

iOS

  1. Long-press the Daybreak app icon.
  2. Tap Remove AppDelete App.

Android

  1. Long-press the Daybreak app icon.
  2. Drag to Uninstall or tap Uninstall.

What happens to your data

  • Account stays active. Sign in from any device to access it.
  • Synced data is preserved. Check-ins, journal entries, Dawn conversations — all still there.
  • The extension stops blocking on the device you uninstalled from.
  • The mobile app stops sending notifications on that device.

Reinstalling later

Sign in with the same account. Settings, focus modes, block lists, check-in history, and Dawn memory all sync back. You may need to re- grant permissions on macOS (Screen Recording) or Android (battery exception, usage access).

To delete everything permanently

Uninstalling is not enough — your account and data persist. To wipe them:

  1. Export your data if you want a copy.
  2. Delete your account from Settings.

Need help

If files are leftover or the extension won't uninstall cleanly, submit a ticket with browser version and OS.
