Step-by-step
Open the dashboard and click 'Check in'
The check-in card sits at the top of the dashboard if you haven't checked in today. The form expands inline.
Set the sliders
Don't agonize over the exact numbers. A rough read now beats a careful read tomorrow.
Pick triggers and coping strategies
Multi-select. Pick from the preset list or type your own — custom entries are saved to your personal vocabulary.
Add a one-line note (optional)
This is where the value compounds. Even one sentence — "tough afternoon, walked it off" — gives you something to look back at in three months.
Submit
The streak counter and progress charts update immediately.
Tips for better check-ins
- Be honest about a 0 or a 10. The chart is for you. Inflated or deflated numbers make the trend useless.
- Anchor it to something you already do. After dinner, brushing teeth, putting the kids to bed. Free-floating intentions get skipped; attached habits don't.
- Don't worry about catching up. Past days can't be backfilled by design. The point is reflection on the actual day, not a manufactured streak.
- Review weekly. Look at the past 7 days on the progress page on Sunday. Patterns become visible at the week scale that don't show up day to day.
Common pitfalls
Treating the streak as the goal
Recovery is not the streak. The streak is just a low-stakes reminder mechanism. If missing one day means you "fail" and stop checking in, the streak has become counterproductive — break it intentionally and keep going.
Skipping the notes field forever
Every analytics pattern eventually becomes anonymous numbers. The notes are what make the past readable. One sentence is enough.
